Despite this, it is common in cities and inside homes and offices.<\/p><p>These are ultrafine particles (2.5 microns in diameter or less) that are a mixture of organic and inorganic substances of all kinds. Here the particulate matter is even finer, in the nanoparticle range, and includes substances that can be very critical: heavy metals such as nickel, mercury, lead or copper and <a class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Outdoors, it is difficult to avoid exposure to PM25, as public administrations are reacting slowly so as not to affect the economy.<\/p><p>It is recommended to avoid intense physical activity during pollution episodes and always try to do it away from busy streets.<\/p><p>Indoors it is recommended:<\/p><ul><li>Avoid excessive textiles: carpets, rugs, stuffed animals, upholstered furniture. &#8230;.<\/li><li>Use stove hoods for cooking.<\/li><li>Care with chimneys and boilers: avoid the release of combustion gases into the interior.<\/li><li>In homes located on busy streets, ventilate the house outside peak hours.<\/li><li>Install ventilation systems with filters for fine particles.<\/li><li>Wipe off dust with wet cloths.<\/li><li>Vacuum dust with special filters for fine particles: HEPA, ULPA or class S.<\/li><li>If there are sensitive people, use air purifiers with HEPA filters.<\/li><li>In homes, avoid laser printers.<\/li><li>In offices, install nanoparticle filters on printers.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b80a44b outdoors limit values for fine particulate matter PM2.5 (<a \u03bcg\/m3 annual average.<br>25 \u03bcg\/m3 24h average.<\/p>\n<p>Indoors, the target values should be stricter, as we generally spend there 80-90% of our time.<\/p>\n<p>In case of respiratory or coronary disease, it is also advisable to carry out particulate matter analyses in the home. They can identify whether it contains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carlessuria.com\/en\/indoor-toxicity\/heavy-metals\/\">heavy metals<\/a> or other hazardous contaminants. If this is the case, the source should be traced because of its serious toxicity and eliminated.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
